A Jewish Mission And Destiny: Chanukah.
Already the first night of lighting the Menorah is behind us, and tonight, before Shabat comes in, we will light for the second night. We as a people must ask ourselves what have we achieved in the last twenty-four hours. Our soldiers are bleeding in Gaza and on Israel’s northern border in a conflict That echoes the story of Chanukah. These young men and women have placed their Jewish mission and destiny above their own comfort and safety as did Matityahu and his sons who acted with mesirut nefesh.
What the Maccabees achieved centurys ago the IDF are achieving today. Our people will not sit in comfort while Jewish blood is considered cheap by Israel’s enemy’s. The Jewish State will do everything possible and then some to defend and protect its sons and daughters. Israel will never surrender to a world opinion that reeks of Jew hatred nor will it capitulate to the evil forces awayed against it in our day anymore than the Maccabees would have placed their own safety above the Jewish mission and destiny.
Thats the answer to the question above with trust in the G-d of Israel we will achieve victory!
