Meaning of logo

The name "Achdut Halev" is Hebrew for "Unity of the Heart." 

Loving one another is Israel's only means of restoration. 

The handshake is made up from the two stripes on the flag of Israel and is crowned by the heart to represent Achdut HaLev (unity of the heart) for the Nation of Israel.


Achdut HaLev, Brief History and Accomplishments

Overview of Achievements and Challenges in Building Yiddishkeit through Outreach (Kiruv) to the Melbourne Jewish Community of Australia and in Recent times Achdut HaLev has concentrated on encouraging and promoting the message of Aliyah through the medium of Radio, the Internet and Public Forums in Australia.

With the message of Aliyah as our primary goal, much work is currently going into the development of a first class website and producing online events with the express purpose of educating Jews, recognise the times we live in and what needs to be done if we are going to make a difference in the world.

Aliyah is the key element behind all Achdut HaLev’s ventures and the core message of our mission statement.

Since 2006 Achdut HaLev has reached out to the local Melbourne community with Shiurim for men and women from all backgrounds as well as larger events ranging from 60 to 500 people at any one time.

Many Rabbis from the Melbourne Kahilla were given opportunities to teach and encourage through the work of Achdut HaLev.
 
Achdut HaLev in conjunction with JNF Victoria / Australia and Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem brought together a select panel of speakers consisting of;

  • Eitan Drori from Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
  • Jamie Hyams, Senior Policy Analyst for AIJAC.
  • Joe Krycer, then State Executive Director JNF Victoria. ( Joe Krycer has since made Aliyah in 2010/11).
  • Ms Ginette Searle, Executive Director Zionist Council of Victoria. To address the topic ‘Israel 2009 and Beyond in a World of Uncertainty.

Achdut HaLev brought Israel’s Rabbi Lazer Brody to Melbourne for a one-night event followed by speaking engagements at two of Melbournes Jewish Religious schools the next day.

In 2014 Achdut HaLev made Aliyah and is now based in Israel.

Achdut HaLev has had a positive if small impact on peoples lives and is now ready to take the next step in expanding its activities to Israel and beyond.
