“ABRAHAM ACCORDS”not likely!

The so-called Abraham Accords between the Jewish State of Israel and the United Arab Emirates is touted as a historic peace agreement intending to bring about the normalization of relations between the two states.

What’s in it for Israel not much other than gaining the recognition of an Arab oligarchy who fears the threat of a strident Iran on its doorstep and believes Israel is its only credible hope to maintaining Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and his fellow Princes of the United Arab Emirates in power.

While bilateral relations between Israel and the UAE the second-largest economy in the region, after Saudi Arabia could spawn trade relations, there is no doubt the UAE seeks defence, aviation security and of course access to Israels unmatched technology industries.

President Donald Trump has taken much of the credit for bringing the two parties together and has suggested the UAE will be a trailblazer for other countries in the region to follow suit and initiate full recognition of the Jewish State while normalising diplomatic, economic…relations.

It all sounds too good to be true and when we pull back the curtain and overcome the initial euphoria what will this agreement achieve in real terms and at what cost to our people in the future.

Firstly be well aware the United Arab Emirates role in this agreement is at the behest of the Saudi Arabian Kingdom who through its proxy is testing the waters with a view to formalising relations with the Jewish State should the fallout be minimal and short-lived.

Secondly, the devil is in the detail and we need to know that our political leaders will not commit Israel to any strategic relationship with the Gulf States and Saudi Arabia in the future. Sound alarmist, fanciful not at all.

Should America continue to abrogate its international responsibilities in dealing with the Middle East the Arab Sunni countries would be hardpressed to resist Iran in full flight. The Saudis and Emirates would have no option than call upon Israel for help.

Anyone blind to the implications of a strategic agreement between Israel and Saudi & co is either ignorant or scoundrels.

Thirdly politicians of any persuasion who have no principles except to stay in office while deceiving and abandoning the people deserve our condemnation.

Jews of Judea and Samaria should feel aggrieved as they are being sacrificed by the power brokers while these same politicians hope to ride the wave of opportunism at the expense of Jews who know how to stand upright in their Land despite those who would treat him as expendable and irrelevant.

Its time for timid, mediocre leadership to retire with whatever grace they have left and hand over the reins of power to a new generation of Jews who refuse to be intimidated or cowed by domestic and international opinion-makers.

Lastly, the Abrahamic Covenant was an unconditional covenant (Bereshit/Genesis 12:1-3) unlike the accord between Israel and the UAE which requires Israel to forgo exercising its sovereign right over the Yehuda and Shomron while placating the fake Palestinians aspirations to dismantle the Jewish State bit by bit.

No this is definitely not an Abraham Accord but rather an agreement based on certain pre-agreed conditions that Israel must agree to.

“Abraham Accord” not likely!
