Arab Nationalism Leathal Cocktail For Israel!

Here we go again. Our readers may well be sick of Achdut HaLev & Hadar Yehudit repeatedly writing about Arab violence towards Jews. However, not as much as we grow tired of news outlets reporting another killing of Jews going about their daily lives under a cloud of Arab hate.

Already this week has seen one Jew murdered and five injured in a terror ramming at the Maccabim checkpoint located on the central Jerusalem Tel Aviv Route 443 highway on this Thursday morning. Four IDF personnel were wounded while escorting Jewish worshippers to Yosef Tomb in Nablus last night. The Arabs had detonated an explosive device to maximise the carnage.

Only a fool would believe these horrific incidents are the exception. The reality is quite different. They are a daily occurrence. Met by Jews with fortitude and an unbending resilience in the face of an ever-growing hostility towards the Jewish State and its people.

Next week would be no different despite the government’s rhetoric of chasing down the perpetrators and exacting appropriate revenge if it was only true. Israel would be terror-free by next week. In all their ghastliness and cruelty, the gruesome horrors continue to remind us of the ashes at Auschwitz, Majdanek, and Treblinka. There, our people went up in smoke. There we swore: “Never again!” Never shall we forget the lessons of the European killing factories to never have the slaughter of Jews for being Jews repeated! Yet, on the streets of the Jewish State, that rose from the ashes. Arabs rampage and destroy all that is Jewish, all that is good.

Our leaders have forgotten the solemn pledge “never again!”

Israel needs to “remember!” now and reject the feelings of helplessness. The government needs to rejuvenate the struggle for the life of the nation. Jewish leadership needs to initiate practical steps to chart a course of national rescue that mobilizes the Jewish People to fight this enemy with all our might till there are no more headlines announcing another Jew offered on the altar of indifference.

Yosef Yigal Drever and Sylvia Drever co-founded Achdut HaLev in 2006 to reach out to the Jewish community's around the world providing support in learning Torah and promoting the 'Return of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel.' Yosef Yigal made Aliya in 2014 while Sylvia his wife is an Israeli. In late 2014 Achdut HaLev concentrated all its resources towards Aliya and the rebuilding of Eretz Yisrael. Excluding none and embracing all. The commandment to settle the Land of Israel is equal in importance to all the Torah Commandments all together: (Sifri Deut 12:29)
