Ben Gvir is Being Sidelined Again!
Reports coming out of Jerusalem, while not yet confirmed, suggest Defence Minister Yoval Gallant along with Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot, have demanded Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu exclude National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir from talks on potential riots at the Temple Mount during Ramadan. This comes on the heels of United States President Joe Biden’s remarks regarding Ben Gvir’s suitability as a member of the Netanyahu government. Biden has called the present Israel government the most ”extreme” he has witnessed in his political career. He went on to say Israel would lose world sympathy if it continued to allow National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and others to serve in the government.
Biden’s remarks are a blatant interference in Israel’s internal security and an attack on its national sovereignty. As for Gantz, Gallant and Eisenkot, their track record in supporting the politically motivated Judicial Reform opposition and its American backers of 2023 tells you all you need to know about their motivation to remove Ben Gvir and company.
The left in Israel is vehemently opposed to Itamar Ben Gvir, who seeks to establish a genuinely independent Foreign and Defence policy that rejects Israel becoming a mere colony of American self-interest. He aims to make the Jewish State secure and strong, free from foreign restraints and political coercion, leading to an emasculated Israel vulnerable to external and internal hostile forces.
If unattended, the consequences of the Left’s radicalism are far-reaching-though not perhaps immediately apparent, they are the real danger to a sovereign Israel and its Jewish future. Gantz and Eisenkot sit in the war cabinet while Ben Gvir is excluded from doing so. Neither Eisenkot nor Gantz were elected to sit in the government by the majority of voters in November 2022. In contrast, Itamar Ben Gvir has a genuine mandate from the people to do so. You may well ask who is running this government. The uncomfortable answer may well be Gantz, Eisenkot and a little old man in the Whitehouse.
