Coming soon, Israel, Iran and the Nuclear Showdown!
While everyone looks to the sky for Israel’s response to Iran’s achieving weapon-grade uranium, they are looking in the wrong place. While Israel will employ air power, the main thrust will come from the sea.
Its Israel’s submarine fleet that will deal Iran’s nuclear ambitions a fatal blow. The Dolphin II class subs are equipped with nuclear-armed cruise missiles and carry a 200-kiloton nuclear warhead.
The vessel’s active range is 4,500 km, and its destination is 1,857 km, which makes a round trip of 3,714 km very doable. The subs complement of cruise missiles has a range of 1,500 km, allowing the vessels to remain outside Iranian waters should they choose to do so.
Israel may well have a surprise up their sleeve in the choice of weapon to be used to penetrate the deepest submerged nuclear facility. Combined with stealth aircraft and cyber warcraft, Iran won’t know what hit them till it’s all over.
Dragon Horse awaits the starter’s orders. Keep your eye on the sea.
