Down Under and Far Away!
I have just returned from a lightning visit to Australia, a place down under and far away. Far away in more ways than one. Australia, like so many countries today, are far away from understanding the facts and reasons that shape the mindset in the Middle East towards the Jewish State. Australians are projecting their prejudices onto the individual Jew and Israel, the Jews’s historic home. These thoughts have always existed, lying under a thin veneer of tolerance and mateship. All that came to an abrupt end on October 7 2023, when some 1,300 Jewish men, women and children were indiscriminately slaughtered and over 4,900 injured while 251 were taken captive into the Hell hole that is Arab Gaza.
No sooner had the first reports of the heinous crime hit the screens of the world news media before a shot had been fired in retaliation in response to this barbarism than International cities were subject to blatant anti-Semitic vitriol against their fellow Jewish citizens and the hated Jewish State? Australia was no exception. On October 8, Australians of varying backgrounds descended on the iconic Sydney Opera House to vent their support for the killers of October 7, chanting Death to the Jews – Gas the Jews!
The fact that many of these demonstrators were carrying illegal terrorist flags and verbally supporting Hamas, Iran and other fellow travellers was in breach of Australian law. No one was arrested, nor were they dispersed by the onlooking NSW Police. However, there was one arrest on the night in question: a lone Jew holding an Israeli flag in support of the murdered, raped and tortured victims of the previous 24 hours. His actions were considered incitement that could lead to riot. The fact that the jeering crowd was calling for the death of innocent Jews seemed to escape the definition of incitement, the very worst kind of incitement to commit mass murder.
As the months have gone by, Australian public opinion has solidified into one of anti-Israel and Jew hostility. A good indicator of how deep the prejudice towards Jews goes is to be found at the dinner parties of Australia’s bourgeoisie and elites as they praise the Hamas murderers while denigrating Jews for being Jews.
These elites and their useful idiots attempt to stifle the stink of their rabid anti-Semitism by being careful to express their nonsense under the cover of pseudo-intellectualism. These paragons of virtue will tell you in a fleeting moment of honesty as they see it, the Jews themselves are to blame for the world’s dislike of their State and their society. It’s the Jews’s fault.
Israel and Jews are now the original oppressors from which Israel can never be redeemed. No matter that, others bear a far greater guilt than Jews could ever be guilty of. Australia, along with the vast majority of nations, has passed judgement. The scapegoats have been chosen, and they must die.
The die is cast and it has become politically and psychologically acceptable to be anti-Semitic, a Jew hater morphed into a moral man.
