Israel’s Security Dilemma!
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich sent a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu today expressing his concerns for security in Judea and Shomron and asking to create sterile security zones around the territory. If Netanyahu ignores Smotrich’s appeal to reinforce security measures to avoid a repeat of October 7, the Prime Minister will be guilty twice over for neglecting the safety of Jewish lives.
Unfortunately, the murky world of domestic politics and International diplomacy spawns an entire environment of deception and double-speak. Encouraging both Israeli and American self-interest to take centre stage. They are populated by frauds, fantasists, and political opportunists. Situated in the twilight world between intelligence-gathering, disinformation and diplomacy, it is hard to distinguish truth from falsehood, and even the most bona fide government double-speak is open to differing interpretations.
Smotrich, one of the few political leaders to have a clear understanding of what’s needed to keep Jews safe, is actively soliciting a serious plan to achieve that very thing: Jewish security. Smotrich is supremely conscious of the overriding necessity to isolate any potential aggressor from repeating the horrors of Hamas in the Jewish heartland. Netanyahu’s reluctance to heed the warnings from his Finance Minister will only create division in the present atmosphere of frustration. Netanyahu ignores Smotrich at his own peril. It brings his replacement closer, and it’s hoped someone who would execute trustworthy policies designed to save Jewish lives and maintain Jewish sovereignty over the land of Israel.
What you have said certainly clarifies the current vulnerability of Israel’s citizens.
We understand your concerns and wonder how any protection for Jewish people can be assured outside of HaShem.
Prayer may well be the best and only answer by looking up rather than to the nations who all have their own agendas
Look to HaShem, your very present help in time of need.

Paul, your thoughtful comment hits the nail on the head. I would, however, like to add that we only rely on the G-d of Israel and certainly reject all reliance on any nation as meaningless. Everything that is currently happening to the State of Israel and the Jews of the Diaspora is the will of HaShem and thoroughly addressed in the Torah.
Times are not about to get better but rapidly deteriorate for an unprepared world.
