Itamar Ben Gvir Threat to National Security. What Madness is this?

Last Friday, the Shin Bet made a rare statement concerning the proposed visit by Itamar Ben Gvir MK to the Temple Mount, suggesting his presence would pose a threat to national security.

This is a curious statement, given the Arabs are the only entity using violence and intimidation toward the Jewish State. One party is guilty of breaking the law of the land while the other if guilty of anything is guilty of expressing his right according to Israel law to visit the Temple Mount.

The facts are that Ben Gvir would cause no more disruption to Israeli society by visiting the Temple Mount than the late Prime Minister Ariel Sharon caused by visiting the same Temple Mount in September of 2000. The frenzied howling from the leftist media and their political lapdogs at the time sounds very much like today’s censure of Ben Gvir.

What madness is this? Have we all gone stark raving mad indulging every Arab sensitivity? At the same time, Jews are forbidden from freely expressing their legal rights to assemble on the Temple Mount in line with Israeli law?

How much longer will the Jewish establishment penalise the Jew for being loyal to the Jewish State. At the same time, the Arab is rewarded for his undying resolution to end the Jewish State and the Jewish presence in the Middle East?

Itamar Ben Gvir does what every Jew should be doing and fight for what he sees as central to the life of our society. He and others like him strive to preserve the freedom, independence, and political sovereignty obtained by the blood and sacrifice of those who fought and died for Israel in 1947-48, 1956, 1967,1973, and until today—cementing the State of Israel as an irrevocable fact.

Itamar Ben Gvir, like the late Rabbi Meir Kahane ztl, if given a chance, will inspire a “movement of political and spiritual redemption that works towards relevant political action and the complete redemption and building of the Temple.

We must join them to make a difference and advance redemption.

Yosef Yigal Drever and Sylvia Drever co-founded Achdut HaLev in 2006 to reach out to the Jewish community's around the world providing support in learning Torah and promoting the 'Return of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel.' Yosef Yigal made Aliya in 2014 while Sylvia his wife is an Israeli. In late 2014 Achdut HaLev concentrated all its resources towards Aliya and the rebuilding of Eretz Yisrael. Excluding none and embracing all. The commandment to settle the Land of Israel is equal in importance to all the Torah Commandments all together: (Sifri Deut 12:29)

Wonderful piece about Itamar. My main concern, however, is that the deeply entrenched Left in Israel will never allow him to get that far (as your last paragraph suggests). It’s precisely because of the qualities you attribute to Itamar that I very much fear for his safety….

    • You are so right. However, we are not under any false illusions about the nature of those who oppose authentic Jewish values. If not, Itamar Ben Gvir, another Jew, will take his place and, if necessary, another until the true Zionist vision becomes a reality.

And finally, let the Jew understand we have a mission and a destiny to fulfil, and nothing can stop us from achieving the Promise of the G-d of Israel.

In the end, we must discard any thoughts of being grasshoppers when in reality, we are the princes of His people.
