The Politics of Deceit
The accepted definition of the word deceit proclaims it the act of causing someone to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid: the act or practice of deceiving: deception achieving one’s goals through a web of deceit. It’s also an attempt or device to deceive.
While deceit is nothing new in politics the deception and double-dealing being practiced by the world’s current crop of politicians and of particular interest to us Israel’s contemporary leaders are without precedent in recent times.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has played fast and loose with the truth during the last election and continues his reckless head-on rush to transform Israel into a carbon copy of the liberal-woke West.
Bennett and his gang of miss-fits mouth the usual cliches professing their Zionist credentials while working vigorously behind the scenes to dismantle the Zionist culture and replace it with a new society dedicated to “concessions” and “compromises” till there is nothing left to compromise over.
Thereby giving succor to the Arab nationalists, empowering them to demand more and more from a dispirited Jewish leadership. This government’s policies will only bring disaster down upon our heads. These sunshine patriots are committed to the destruction of the Jewish spiritual destiny and its core Zionist principles.
What’s to be done? Firstly we must stand resolute in absolute opposition to the alien values which are being spawned by the culture of appeasement. It should be made clear this government’s agenda is nothing but a farce.
The leaders we choose determine the nation’s destiny, its fate, and its future, unfortunately, at present, we are afflicted with stumbling leadership, which deceives and misleads the people delivering crises and failures.
This government’s leadership is in a tremendous unprecedented crisis of its own making. Having given the Arab Mansour Abbas and his United Arab List a place in the current government not to mention Merav Michaeli’s Israeli Labor Party and Nitzan Horowitz Meretz etc…who are taking every opportunity to erode traditional Jewish values while this catastrophic process is presented by the governments spin doctors as progressive and tolerant. It is neither it’s rather a perilous continuation of the treachery shown by the Leftist ideologues and the talking heads in the partisan media.
Much of what Bennett and co have managed to do so far could be defined as silent deceit as its destructive result is accomplished quietly and furtively, without arousing the silent majority who if mobilized at the next election could put an end to this growing cancer. Many Israeli Jews are unaware of the dimensions of the crisis raging within it, while its leadership not only lacks the necessary mindset for combating the internal threat posed by such ill-thought-out policies but are the actual instigators of these bankrupt ideas.
At the moment the only bright spot on the political horizon lies with the Religious Zionist Party who’s resourceful leadership is devoted to Israel’s welfare and survival, capable of incisive assessment of the Nations predicament while speaking the truth to their fellow Jews about their critical dilemma: at the same time to act with courage and determination in resuscitating the Zionist spirit amongst Jews everywhere.
Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Gvir are well qualified to set the course for the Nation to follow.
The last word on the subject at hand the reality is the pledge by the G-d of Israel and His Prophets that a day would come when Zion would be restored and that day dawned in 1948 and we in the closing months of 2021 are seeing the sun setting on the Exile.
The plans of those who choose deceit over honesty will come to nothing in the end. You can depend on it.
