Ukraine Prelude to All-Out War.
While the war in Ukraine is becoming one of attrition, its lifeblood flows from the United States and its European allies. Should America decide its aims have been met or it loses interest, that lifeblood will be cut off before you can say “as American as apple pie.”
The Ukraine war will be remembered for how it morphed into the prelude to all-out war—the shifting balance of power between the West and China on the rise. The Middle Kingdom’s increasing assertiveness in the South China Sea and more recent push into Middle Eastern politics is placing extreme stress on international stability.
This assertive China as the new superpower can only be contrary to American interests as they have been for the last eighty years. War clouds are on the horizon and settling over an independent-minded Taiwan. As China grows in confidence, boosted by its new power projection capabilities, it will announce that it intends to take complete control of the South China Sea. What’s America to do? If they accept China’s new role in the sea and surrounding nations, they will have been defeated in Asia without firing a shot in anger. Should they resist all attempts by China to push the United States out of the Asia Pacific region, then war is the only outcome.
After the initial conflicts between the two giants, the question of nuclear war is broached by both nations. For China, a totalitarian state, the question of a nuclear strike is academic. For America, amid moral decline, the fear of such an attack would most likely lead it to renounce America’s hegemony over the South China Sea and all that goes with it. America blinks first, and they believe the cost of defeating the new hegemonic power outways the benefits they would accrue.
For China, this is round one in the fight for world dominance. China is heavily reliant on overseas energy resources. Control and access to those resources become of critical importance. Re-enter the Middle East to centre stage.
With America procrastinating between negotiation and military conflict, only one country is prepared to fight to keep China, Russia, Iran, and Turkey from steamrolling their way through Israel and achieving world hegemony.
Seem far-fetched, maybe!
