When is a Journalist Fair Game?
Four weeks ago, Al Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Akleh was shot and killed by unknown fire while reporting on the situation in Arab occupied Jenin.
Israel was immediately accused of deliberately murdering the Arab reporter and summarily found guilty by public opinion. No investigation, no trial, no proof and all the initial facts point towards an Arab bullet snuffing out Shireen Abu Akleh’s life are being expunged from the record as the facts don’t fit the anti-semitic narrative that the Arab world and much of the West hold sacrosanct.
When enough time has passed, and it’s found that Israel was not the villain once again, there will be no apologies or breast-beating over the guilty party as that was never the objective. Instead, the castigation of an innocent Jewish State is all that matters for these Jew-haters.
This begs the question of whether one should be aggrieved at the passing of a blatant propagandist who unashamedly, over decades, has defamed the State of Israel and its people while taking advantage of its liberal hospitality. Shireen Abu Akleh went out of her way to demonise the Jewish State and, by doing so, contributed to the deaths of many innocent Jewish men, women and children.
It’s fashionable to say all lives matter, and we regret the death of anyone. This is nonsense. In 1945 not many people grieved the loss of Adolf Hitler or his henchman. His prime propagandist Josef Goebbels who cheated the hangman by taking his and his family’s lives, and Julius Streicher, founder and publisher of the virulently anti-Semitic newspaper Der Sturmer which was a central element of the Nazi propaganda machine, was found guilty of crimes against humanity and hung for the words printed in his hateful newspaper during his editorship.
Shireen Abu Akleh and all propagandists of her ilk should be fair game in the ongoing war against the Jewish people. They say the pen is mightier than the sword. Then beware, guttersnipe journalists, if you choose to go to war against the Jewish people and victimise their right to exist, you should be prepared for the losses of war.
A warning to those who would defame, victimise and oppress the Jewish people the blood of our martyrs will continue to quicken the seeds of the national spirit and all the efforts of the Jew-haters will fail and rebound on their heads.
