Dream or Nightmare the Choice is Ours !
After the Holocaust ended in 1945 and the Jewish State was restored in 1948, the mourners of Zion dreamed of a future free from humiliation, fear, terror, and Jew-Hatred culminating in death at the hands of their gentile neighbours. They could now dream of exchanging fear, terror, and humiliation for life, life free from the blood-curdling screams of kill the Jew that rang out in every street in civilised Europe throughout the blood-soaked centuries.
Now they could believe in a future in their own land, a Jewish State! After 2,000 years of exile. This wonderful dream, where fear and intimidation had no place, where they could raise their children to be proud, fearless Jews, turning the dream into reality.
Turn the clock forward to October 7 2023, and that dream is looking a little less rosy after the horrific slaughter of some 1,195 men, women and children in the most cruel and barbarous ways since Hitlers Nazis set the benchmark in evil. Thousands more were injured, while over 200 were taken hostage. This was genocide executed in deceit, and precision unparalleled since the dark days of Auschwitz, Treblinka and many other factories of death. We said ”never again!” And to our dismay and disgrace, we have forgotten this oath. How so? Through our willingness to deal with Jew-Hating murderers, rapists, necrophiliacs the scum of the earth.
While beating the drum and showing the flag, the army that once smashed three arab armies in six days is reduced to a shadow of itself, unable after 20 months to destroy an enemy bent on Israel’s destruction. These nationalist Arabs, seemingly unafraid, taunting, cursing, hating, are still standing. And the soldiers of Israel stand in frustration, hobbled by insane orders that prevent them from achieving victory. While many of our politicians are ideologically not prepared to fight to win, they choose to curry favour with world opinion. They tie our soldiers’ hands with insane limitations, putting them in harm’s way while providing the enemy population with food, medical supplies, fresh water and electricity. Is it any wonder that the Arab grows bolder and more confident as he sees his enemy sustain him throughout the hostilities and now speaks of a ceasefire with Hamas in exchange for some hostages?
Yes, we have ‘forgotten’ ”Never Again!”
However, it’s not too late, we have a state of our own, and all of it belongs to the Jewish people. Too many of our brave young and not-so-young soldiers have sacrificed blood and guts and remain steadfast in the face of the enemy. It’s time for our leaders to join them in their unflinching service to the country. If not, then those leaders should walk away and leave it to those who are. To those who overcome their fears and have faith in G-d and are prepared to oppose all and every force that would harm the Land of Israel and its precious people.
