Israel the New Dreyfus !
French President Emanuel Macron and Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu endorsed a motion following a unanimous vote by the lower house of the French Parliament in July, promoting Captain Alfred Dreyfus posthumously to the rank of Brigadier General on Monday, and instituting July 12 as France’s national day commemorating Dreyfus. Macron declared it to be ”the victory of justice and truth against hatred and anti-Semitism.”
Captain Alfred Dreyfus was arrested in 1894 on the charge of espionage. With no evidence to support the charges against Dreyfus, he was tried and convicted of selling secrets of homeland defence to Germany and imprisoned for life on Devil’s Island in French Guiana, a terrifying place of incarceration where only death could set one free. It took five long years to reverse the injustice done to Alfred Dreyfus, who was pardoned by President Emile Loubet in 1899. In 1906, Dreyfus was exonerated by a military commission, readmitted to the army, promoted to the rank of major, and awarded the rank of Knight of the Legion of Honour.
It is against this background of entrenched Jew-Hatred, then and now, that we understand Israel is the new Dreyfus. Hypocrisy writ large as the powers that be use a dead Jew, not for the first time, to disguise their contempt for Jews and the Jewish State. They accuse Israel of war crimes and malign the Jewish State without evidence to support their claims. Emotive rhetoric let loose on Israel and its people despite the facts on the ground.
Like Alfred Dreyfus, 129 years ago, maligned and found guilty of treason on trumped-up charges, Israel has been dragged through the court of public opinion since October 8 2023, despite being the innocent party in the murderous crimes of Hamas and associates since October 7 2023.
And so Israel is the new Dreyfus!
