Israel Stands at a Crossroads!

Israel stands at a crossroads; the direction it chooses will have long-term consequences that will affect Jewish-Israeli society for the foreseeable future. Israel must choose between an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth policy when dealing with its enemies or find itself in a crisis of purpose leading to an Israeli society collapsing under the weight of self-doubt.

No longer is it viable to mimic Western liberal-woke insanities when those Bankrupt ideas lead to self-destruction, as seen in the West today. These ‘progressive’ notions obstruct the Jewish State from achieving victory. Israel must face the reality that it is not a Western country, nor is it a natural fit for Democracy. It lies between the West on one side and the Middle East on the other, and it belongs to neither.

Instead, it is the quintessential outlier struggling to define its destiny and the meaning of its national and sovereign existence in the Land of Israel. That struggle will only be resolved when its people in the Diaspora and Israel reconcile the seeming contradiction between being a religion and a nationalist endeavour. At the moment of recognition, Israel will be free to pursue its mission encompassing humanity and fulfilling its reason for existence.

Yosef Yigal Drever and Sylvia Drever co-founded Achdut HaLev in 2006 to reach out to the Jewish community's around the world providing support in learning Torah and promoting the 'Return of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel.' Yosef Yigal made Aliya in 2014 while Sylvia his wife is an Israeli. In late 2014 Achdut HaLev concentrated all its resources towards Aliya and the rebuilding of Eretz Yisrael. Excluding none and embracing all. The commandment to settle the Land of Israel is equal in importance to all the Torah Commandments all together: (Sifri Deut 12:29)

    Hi Dear Friends,
Where do you feel Bibi’s future lies in the upcoming election.
You’re suggestion of a conservative candidate from the religious party of the current Finance Minister sounds interesting, but do you feel that Bibi should be sidelined at this crucial time?
Trump’s equivocation is not helping in the dealing with Hamas or the IRGC in Iran.
Israel must destroy these entities to survive.
Ultimately, Israel’s survival is assured in scripture and at the hand of Maschiach.
Blessings and love to you both.

    • Binyamin Netanyahu is the quintessential political survivor, and it would be no surprise to see him win another election everyone wrote off. Right now, he is the only credible choice for Prime Minister. As for Trump, he is the best of a bad lot, with worse to come.

Trump’s leadership becomes more erratic as each day passes and, at times, undermines Israel’s ability to fight the current conflict to win. America no longer fights to win; instead, it relies on a failed containment policy that guarantees defeat.
