Who is F…ing Crazy?
It has been confirmed that President Donald Trump called Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu f…king crazy during a heated phone conversation on Monday regarding Israel’s intention to up the ante through increased air attacks on Hezbollah targets in Beirut.
The American response to Hezbollah’s constant rocket barrage on Israel’s North was to impose a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, despite the fact that the Lebanese terrorist group continues to violate the ceasefire. Trump trumpets another success, notwithstanding intelligence briefings contradicting his claims of all quiet on the Northern front.
This is another example of Trump’s hubris and complete lack of understanding Middle East politics. As for Trump’s impolitic choice of words with Israel’s Prime Minister, it displays an absence of respect for the Jewish State. As both men represent their respective countries, the caustic language was patronising at best and trash-talking at worst.
The conversation was a window into American self-interest, and not pretty to read when indulged by a baffoon and ugly in the extreme. This conversation can only, by its very nature, serve to create a growing suspicion on the part of Israeli intelligence for American lack of stomach for the fight, and Trump is on the verge of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in the Middle East while inviting China to test its mettle in the South China Sea.
