April 13th: Another Day In Infamy!

First came October 7. Then another day in infamy descended on Israel on April 13, when the Islamic Republic of Iran blatantly struck without warning the first direct blow from Iranian soil, declaring open war with the Jewish State.

Destruction and terror were to be the harbinger of panic among the unsuspecting Jewish people, according to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. It came violently with 170 drones, over 30 cruise missiles and more than 120 ballistic missiles. As these weapons of destruction scythed through the early morning sky, the Israeli people did not panic, nor did they hide in terror; instead, they braced themselves for the worst and, by sunrise, found Iran’s offensive to have fizzled out with only a handful of the hundreds of missiles targeting the Jewish State entering her sovereign territory before being destroyed. There were no Jewish casualties nor damage to property.

Israel’s supremacy was indisputable, a miracle like that of the Six-Day War in 1967. Never before had a country experienced an attack by so many drones and missiles. Iran had finally revealed its true nature synonymous with treachery.

One would think after such an attack on a sovereign member of the United Nations, there would be a clarion call from its members to bring Iran to heel. Stripped of its moral trimmings, now all the mullah’s ideas can be reduced to a simple desire for power which recognizes only one relationship, that of domination, and only one argument, that of force. Iran’s leadership has chosen violence as the final argument. They have dispensed with all others.

Yet the world seeks amity with this rogue state, and in America, President Joe Biden’s administration continues and expands the policy of appeasement that began during Barak Obama’s Presidency. The United States calls on Israel to restrain itself from responding to Iran’s attack on its people. Thereby giving Iran virtual carteblanche when dealing blows with the State of Israel. How can this be?

The answer lies in the mistaken belief that appeasement will strengthen America’s hand in foreign policy and bring peace to the region. In the meantime, the eventual liquidation of the Jewish State is not only the ultimate objective of Iran but has its proselytes in all Western Capitals who are sensitive to the changing attitudes of their citizens towards Israel.

What next? That’s the vital question of the moment. The next chapter in the unfolding fate of the world is now in the hands of Israel’s leaders.

Yosef Yigal Drever and Sylvia Drever co-founded Achdut HaLev in 2006 to reach out to the Jewish community's around the world providing support in learning Torah and promoting the 'Return of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel.' Yosef Yigal made Aliya in 2014 while Sylvia his wife is an Israeli. In late 2014 Achdut HaLev concentrated all its resources towards Aliya and the rebuilding of Eretz Yisrael. Excluding none and embracing all. The commandment to settle the Land of Israel is equal in importance to all the Torah Commandments all together: (Sifri Deut 12:29)

We accept that the Iranian attack was a declaration of direct war. So I say we take our time, but I would prioritize an immediate mission to sabotage/disable the IRGC spy ship directing the Houthi animals in Oman.
We bomb the ship with fast acting chemical agents to disable all IRGC and capture them alive. We will carte all of the semi-comatose prisoners back to Israel where we will revive them and interrogate them and ultimately trade them for the kidnapped Israelis in Gaza.
