Iran U.S. Stalemate what Next ?
All the wishful thinking implied in what will turn out to be another American diplomatic failure regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran’s rejection of any U.S.-imposed deal is the only realistic result as long as the current Iranian regime holds power in the country. It is not too much to say that the destiny of the world hinges on such a catastrophic outcome. The joint Israel – American air offensives over the skies of Iran have so far exposed the inadequacies of air power on its own as a strategic weapon. Unless used indiscriminately and with total malice towards civil society.
If the United States and Israel direct their attacks on Iran’s electricity and water resources and abandon the failed indirect approach, they may be able to compel the regime to accept a negotiated peace on their terms. Otherwise, the two sides will find themselves in a state of perpetual stalemate, antagonistic toward one another in their political, social, and religious systems.
This stalemate would eventually lead to an Iran armed with nuclear weapons, influenced by its religious theology rather than the realities of international relations in terms of power politics.
To avoid a world war of total destruction, the objective must be the elimination of the government in Tehran, nothing less.
