Trump is not a Strategic Thinker!

Donald Trump once again attempts to interfere in Israel’s strategic objectives as he applies pressure on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to withdraw the IDF from Syria and the Lebanon theatre of war. In doing so, Trump reveals his ignorance of strategic planning and its execution.

Trump is proving himself to lack the necessary reflection when assessing the strategic map of the Middle East. He proves, over and over again, to suffer from hubris and complacency while displaying a shallowness that can only be described as inadequate, at the very least. His choice in supporting leaders of dubious ideologies and questionable loyalties leads one to believe the insane have taken over the asylum. Israel’s Prime Minister is the exception to this rule.

Trump is not a strategic thinker and is incapable of defining strategy. At the same time, he talks tough and, on occasion, acts in line with his rhetoric; nonetheless, he fails to use sufficient force to resolve conflict. Trump has failed to impose psychological dominance despite his attempts to frighten, paralyse, and surprise. His modus operandi remains primarily ‘psychological,’ attempting, in this case, to induce Iran into a state that would allow him to impose his will upon the Iranians. Trump’s strategy has proven so far to be a failure. That failure comes from an American inability to understand what motivates an opponent who actually believes, rightly or wrongly, in their beliefs, i.e., the Vietcong in the 1970s, the Taliban in Afghanistan and the rank and file in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Now the U.S. is at it again in their dealings with an emasculated Lebanese government and support for the Turkish-endorsed leadership now in Damascus. And once again, the Jewish State is expected to accommodate Trumpian nonsense that would guarantee Jewish boys and girls spilling their blood to retake what was relinquished under American pressure in the near future.

With friends like these, Israel’s will to fight will be undermined as it’s left to scramble to survive. This cannot be countenanced, and the time is coming for Israel to treat Trump as a hostile President no longer to be trusted with Israel’s strategic game plan.

Excluding none and embracing all. The commandment to settle the Land of Israel is equal in importance to all the Torah Commandments all together: (Sifri Deut 12:29)
