Yes to Ben Gvir, No to Gantz!
Last Thursday, Defense Minister Benny Gantz spoke with the Atlantic editor Jeffery Goldberg at the Aspen Security Forum, where Gantz announced he was “Happy that I blocked the threat of annexation of Judea and Samaria.” He expressed his desire to strengthen the Palestinian Authority while promoting confidence-building measures. And all this from a Jewish, Zionist, and democratic perspective.
While I have reservations about annexing parts of Judea and Samaria because failing to annex all of Judea and Samaria suggests legitimate Arab nationalist claims on the land of Israel. This is unacceptable under any conditions.
As for strengthening the Palestinian authority, it resembles the hated Oslo accords and all the consequences for the Jewish people following this political trojan horse.
From a Jewish Zionist democratic perspective, Gantz’s illusions are nothing more than political theatre at the expense of the Jewish State.
Gantz cannot appreciate that a genuinely Jewish Zionist and Jewish democratic State must reject all his assumptions about the fake Palestinians’ right to a state of their own at the expense of Jewish land. He cannot begin to understand that authentic Zionism is the cradle of Jewish destiny.
Gantz’s beliefs would threaten the future of Jewish sovereignty in all of Israel, not just Judea and Samaria.
That is why the Jewish people must reject Gantz’s betrayal of authentic Jewish values as the Nation approaches another election which may well decide Israel’s future for good or bad.
Gantz and those like him are small and insignificant men who lack the Jewish vision of millennia. They have no credible understanding and, if given a chance to hold political power, will lead our people down a path of stupidities and eventual disaster.
This cannot be and will not be the Nation has a leader at hand who can steer the ship of state through the turbulent times we are living in. Otzma Yehudits’ leader Itamar Ben Gvir is that leader.
Ben Gvir will not be swayed by the promises of those who would stand in the way of an authentic Jewish Government. He will not forget the dream of Zion. He will not bury our brothers and sisters in exchange for empty accolades and honours.
