The Sraits of Hormuz = The Straits of Taiwan !
In the aftermath of the failed talks between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran to bring about a permanent end to hostilities, the United States will impose a Naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz commencing Monday, 10:00 am EST, 5:00 pm Israel time.
The action will cover all shipping regardless of nationality. There will be much riding on the Blockade being a resounding success. If it should fail, China would need to adjust its future plans for a Naval blockade of the Straits of Taiwan; if America succeeds, China would be encouraged to implement a blockade sooner rather than later, while the U.S. assets are bogged down in the Straits of Hormuz.
Inevitably, both China and America are entering dire straits as Xi Jinping impinges on certain spheres that have been the exclusive preserve of the United States. While China suspects the U.S. of attempting to hit its Achilles’ heel, energy independence. Without free access to the Middle East’s abundant oil reserves, China’s ambitions to challenge America’s hegemony would grind to a halt. Leaving China no option but to go to war for its very survival. Reminiscent of Imperial Japan choosing war with the United States eighty-three years ago to secure their war aims in China, another case of preserving energy independence.
Historical experience would seem to predict an inevitable conflict between the two great powers of the 21st century. This will be a consequence of the actions taken in the Straits of Hormuz and Taiwan. China interprets American actions in the Iran war as a design to curtail China’s rise and a forerunner of the ultimate showdown to keep China in a secondary position. For America, failure to achieve its war aims with Iran would result in China systematically undermining U.S. preeminence and thus its security. Furthering China’s plans to achieve military and economic dominance worldwide.
The Straits of Hormuz and Taiwan will necessitate both sides to act with restraint if they are to keep the conflict from spiralling out of their control.
