Israel’s Bennett is long on Sentiment, Short on Practice. Anti-Semitism writ large.

At the opening ceremony for Holocaust Martyrs and Heroes Remembrance Day 2022 at Yad Vashem this Wednesday night, Prime Minister Bennett gave a respectful and thoughtful speech.

Bennett posed the question. What is the lesson? What should we do with this? My answer is clear: Our critical imperative is to stand up for our own fate. Rely on ourselves. To be strong and never apologise for our very existence or our success.

I think there seems to be a big gap between Bennett’s words and his deeds. This Prime Minister would speak for the people, dream for them, and determine, absurdly, their fate while at the same time being weak and apologetic to the enemies of the Jewish State. What hypocrisy and obsequiousness, a crime against the Jewish people in collaboration with Arab nationalists who murder Jews because they are Jews.

This is the Prime Minister who bans Jews from the Temple Mount to appease Arab sensitivities and dismantles Jewish settlements while ignoring illegal Arab settlements throughout Israel. Who ignores the law of the State when it offends Arab ambitions for a Palestinian State in place of the Jewish State.

“Never again!” Never shall we forget the lessons of the Holocaust in order that history doesn’t repeat itself! We will no longer be weak and helpless. We shall defend any Jewish community in a state of threatened existence. Unfortunately, this is not true. Our government, to their disgrace, have forgotten this oath. Arab nationalists rampage and destroy Jews and their property. The similarity to the early days of the Holocaust is there for all to see who want to see.

We as a nation are awash in empty platitudes of strength and determination in the face of an uncaring world, and we work hand in hand with those who would snuff out the life of the nation. It’s as if we had decided to do away with ourselves. The existential crisis hunting our people is fatal. At the same time, we are plagued with a crisis of leadership that neglects to initiate steps to defend our people and eradicate those who would destroy us.

Unlike Prime Minister Bennett’s empty platitudes, the Jewish People must unite with all their might and fight, given the issue of survival, which faces us in all its fury and Never Forget!
